  1. 1.Sign in

    1. Go to mycommunitygates.com on your phone or computer and press “Sign in”.
    2. Type the email address the office has for you, then press “Email me a sign-in code”.
    3. Open your email, find the 6-digit code, and type it in. You are in.

Note There is no password. Each code is new and lasts 10 minutes. If no email arrives, look in spam.

  2. 2.Pick your gate

    1. After signing in you see the gates you belong to.
    2. Press the gate you want, for example “Main Gate”.

Note Everything below happens inside one gate. Press “All gates” at the top left to switch.

  3. 3.Set your personal PIN

    1. On the gate page, press “Set my PIN” at the top. If you already have one it says “Change my PIN”.
    2. Choose “Generate one for me”, or “Choose my own” to type your own.
    3. Press “Set my PIN”. Write the number down: it is shown once.

Note This PIN is yours alone; guests use the visitor PIN instead.

  4. 4.Add your car’s license plate

    1. Press “Add or remove a license plate” at the top of the gate page, type the plate, and press “Add plate”.
    2. The gate opens for that car on its own, usually within a minute.

Note Remove a plate the same way when you sell a car.

  5. 5.Add an EZ TAG transponder

    1. Easiest: drive up to the gate as usual. The gate stays shut, but the reader logs your tag.
    2. Press “Add an EZ TAG, remote or card” at the top of the gate page, then press the EZ TAG picture.
    3. Your tag is listed under “drive through, then claim the read”. Press “That was me”.

Another way Press “Start pairing, then approach” first, then drive up from 30 feet back within two and a half minutes. Start before the car reaches the reader: a tag already sitting there is not read again. Only claim a read you are sure was yours.

  6. 6.Add a gate remote, card or key fob

    1. Be at the gate with it in hand. Press “Add an EZ TAG, remote or card” at the top of the gate page.
    2. Press the picture of what you have, then press “I’m at the gate, start”.
    3. Press the remote once, or hold the card or fob flat on the reader for about 5 seconds.

Note Unlike an EZ TAG, these are paired live: the portal has to be listening while you present it. If the reader did log yours in the last 15 minutes, it also appears under “Or claim a recent read”.

  7. 7.Add someone who lives with you

    1. On the gate page, press “Add someone who lives with me” at the top.
    2. Type their first name, last name and email address, then press “Add person”.
    3. They get an email invitation, and can sign in here to set their own PIN and plates.

Note For family or housemates at your address; they get the same gate access. To remove someone, contact the office.

  8. 8.Give guests a visitor PIN

    1. Press “Give guests a visitor PIN” at the top of the gate page.
    2. Press “Set PIN”, or “Reset PIN” if there is already one, then share the number with your guests.
    3. You can also add a visitor’s plate so their car opens the gate.

Note Everyone living at your address shares these, and anyone there can change them.

  9. 9.Ring your phone when someone calls the intercom

    1. Press “Manage backup phone” on the gate page.
    2. Type a phone number and press “Save backup phone”.

Note The app on your phone rings first. If nobody answers in 15 seconds, the intercom calls this number. No button? Your address has no intercom entry yet — call the office.

Still stuck?

Call or email your community office and say what you were trying to do; its contact details are at the bottom of your gate page. Nothing you press in the portal can break the gate, so it is safe to look around. Adding tags, remotes and cards yourself only works where the office has switched on self-service; your gate page says so if it has not.
